Installation Process
To make things clear, we’ve put together a simple guide of what will happen when your installation takes place.
Arrival
On the agreed installation day, our engineer will visit your property with everything required to set up your alarm system. Once on site, they will carry out a short tour of your home to review the layout and confirm with you the best positions for each device, including the external siren.
Installation
After confirming all details with you, the engineer will start fitting the system, making sure every device is installed to the highest standard. The process usually takes around 1–3 hours, depending on your property size and the number of units required. Any wiring for wall-mounted devices will be carefully placed in trunking to maintain a tidy, professional appearance.
Commissioning
Once installation is complete, the engineer will move on to commissioning the system. This stage includes activating every fitted device, such as the external siren, and checking that all signals from your alarm are correctly transmitted to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). The engineer will run tests to confirm the ARC is receiving every alert without issue.
Demonstration
After commissioning is finalised and all signals have been verified, the engineer will give you a thorough demonstration of the system. They will guide you through changing PIN codes, managing users, and show you how to arm and disarm the alarm using both the keypad and the smartphone app.
Completion
Lastly, the engineer will finalise all required paperwork and request your signature to confirm the installation has been carried out successfully and meets your approval.
Before Your System is Installed
To ensure your BAUER security system installation runs seamlessly, we kindly ask that a few preparations are made in advance so our engineers can begin work immediately.

WiFi
Keep your broadband router’s wireless details, including the connection password, ready for the engineer. -
App
Install the Control Plus 2 app on any iPhone or Android device you’d like to use to operate your security system. The app is available free of charge from both the App Store and Google Play. -
Electrics
A 3AMP fused spur (un-switched) must be available at the location where you want the main alarm panel fitted. If this hasn’t been installed yet, don’t worry—our engineer can provide and fit one during the visit for a fee of £78.00. -
Clear Workspace
Please make sure the area is free from obstructions so the engineer can reach all required spaces and complete the installation safely and efficiently. -
Keyholders
As the main account holder, you are the primary keyholder and will be the first point of contact if your alarm is activated. You’ll also need to appoint at least one additional keyholder—such as a neighbour or trusted friend—who we can reach if you are unavailable. Please prepare your list of keyholders in advance and have it ready for the engineer on installation day.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure the property is safe and accessible before our engineer arrives.
- Move any large furniture in advance, as our engineers are not responsible for this.
- Let us know ahead of time if building work is taking place at your property, as we may need to reschedule the visit.
